On November 14, 2019 leaders of the Hungarian Reformed Church in America, among them Bishop Zoltán Lizik, attended the Diaspora Council Conference in Budapest where Prime Minister Viktor Orbán delivered the keynote. Attendees of the meeting expressed their loyalty to the Orbán Government, they were ready to defend “Hungary’s reputation” and signed a declaration to fight anti-Orbán politicians abroad.

One of the topics of the keynote was Ukraine. Pro-Putin Orbán complained that Ukraine’s new president, Volodymyr Zelensky is not willing to meet him. “I can inform you that, despite repeated attempts, we’ve not yet been able to meet the new President of Ukraine,” he added: “In Ukraine in recent years we’ve seen anti-Hungarian governance, and we hope that the political elite led by the new president will change its thinking and policies, accept Hungary’s outstretched hand and seek to work with Hungary rather than pursue anti-Hungarian policies.”
After the Church leaders returned to North America they made an unexpected announcement. Bishop Zoltán Lizik and Chief Elder Zsolt Demeter called for the dismemberment of Ukraine in a proclamation printed on official Church stationary and distributed to members.

Bishop Lizik and Chief Elder Demeter want to purchase Zacarpathia from Ukraine and annex it to Hungary. They argue that Ukraine has little or no use for the region while it is sacred ancient Hungarian land and Alaska was also purchased from Russia in 1867. Church members are called to contribute funds to the project and the Bishop expects fast results with a wrap-up of the project by June. (June 4 is the anniversary of the Treaty of Trianon, the 1920 peace agreement that ended WWI between most of the Allies and the Kingdom of Hungary and established new borders in Central Europe.)
A couple of years ago Hungary’s far-right Jobbik party distributed maps suggesting that Russia, Romania and Hungary should carve out parts of Ukraine. Tamás Gaudi-Nagy, an ex-Jobbik MP, posed in a T-shirt with the sign “Crimea legally belongs to Russia! Transcarpathia legally belongs to Hungary!” (The idea originally was promoted by Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a nationalist Russian politician and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia.)

It seems that Prime Minister Orbán shares Russian President Putin’s view that Ukraine is a corrupt, “made up” country. Orbán also considers pro-Hitler Hungarian ruler Miklós Horthy a “great statesman.” In 1939 with Hitler’s backing Horthy annexed Zacarpathia and deported Jews, Gypsies and other non-desirables to Auschwitz.

Should we consider the Hungarian Reformed Church in America a religious organization? It seems to me that Church Leaders are transforming it into a Budapest supported far-right political lobby organization. Sadly, Church members are used as political pawns and exploited financially to support Orbán’s nationalist agenda.

FELHÍVÁS CSELEKVÉSRE
Az Amerikai Magyar Református Egyház vezetősége, Lizik Zoltán püspök és Demeter Zsolt főgondnok azzal a felhívással fordul a világ magyarságához, hogy a Nemzeti Összetartozás Évében ne csupán emlékezzünk a 100 évvel ezelőtt történtekre, hanem cselekedjünk is, hozzunk áldozatot, mindenki a maga mértéke szerint és váltsuk vissza Kárpátalját az ukránoktól pénzért. Nekünk az a terület a Vereckei-hágóval nemzeti kincs, múltunk szerves tartozéka, míg az ukránoknak úgyszólván semmit nem jelent, nekik soha nem volt kialakult területi egységük.
Kérjük a Külügyminisztériumot és a Gazdasági Minisztériumot, hogy azonnal kezdjenek tárgyalásokat Ukrajnával, hogy mennyiért lenne hajlandó eladni a Kárpátaljai területet, ahogy annakidején az Amerikai Egyesült Államok kormánya megvette Alaszkát az oroszoktól. Példa tehát van rá a történelemben. Az Ige azt mondja, cselekedjünk jót mindenkivel, de elsősorban hitünknek cselédjeivel, ők valóban hitünk hűséges cselédjei, megérdemlik, hogy legelőször őket váltsuk meg megalázó és tűrhetetlen helyzetükből. Nincs az a kincs, amit meg ne tudnánk adni azért az ősi földért.
Annakidején Mátyás király hatalmas összegért vásárolta vissza a magyar szent koronát, akkor ma mi nem lennénk képesek ezt megtenni magyar testvéreinkért? De igen! Mutassuk meg, hogy van bennünk szeretet, hozzánk tartoznak és mi nem mondtunk le róluk.
Az adakozás mértékét biztos lehetne mérni, hogyan nő az napról-napra, s talán ez magával ragadna másokat is, akik csak szimpatizálnak velünk. Istennek tetsző cselekedet lenne ez, hiszen, ha a Fiú megszabadít titeket, valóban szabadok lesztek. E példán felbuzdulva annakidején a keresztények kiváltották rabságban lévő társaikat, ma nem tudnánk ezt megtenni? De igen! Kezdjük el velük és építsük tovább országunkat, hazánkat.
A Biblia 50 évben szabja meg az elengedés évét, amikor minden rablott dolgot vissza kellett adni, ez nem következett be, sőt még egyszer eladták őket. A 100. évfordulón sem ígérkezik semmi hajlandóság erre. Mire várunk? Cselekednünk kell. Nemcsak ők fogynak, mi is, nem engedhetjük meg, hogy végleg elfogyjunk. Fel nemes küzdelemre, nem fegyverrel, nem vérrel és verejtékkel, hanem a szeretet és a szív erejével, áldozathozatallal.
Ez a legszebb válasz azokra a vádakra, hogy a magyarok széthúznak és nem tartanak össze. Ez nem igaz, sőt, szeretjük fajtánkat, népünket, s azért tenni is hajlandók vagyunk. Legyen az Összetartozás Éve egy szép kezdet, mert megbűnhődte már e nép a múltat s jövendőt. Istené a dicsőség, hogy sohasem hagy reménytelenségben bennünket, sőt, ha megpróbál is, de a kimenekedést is megadja!
Annakidején 1848-ban Kossuth pénzügyminiszterként önálló magyar pénzt akart, mert tudta ez a függetlenség záloga, de nem volt hozzá pénz, akkor felhívással fordult a magyar nőkhöz, hogy ajánlják fel ékszereiket, gyűrűiket, fülbevalóikat, nyakláncaikat a haza javára és megmozdult az ország, odaadták neki értékeiket és sikerült is az osztrákok legnagyobb ámulatára létrehozni, kinyomtatni a Kossuth bankókat, amit aztán a szabadságharc leverése után oly nagy igyekezettel próbáltak összeszedni és megsemmisíteni, de a magyar nép áhítattal őrizte, rejtegette a Kossuth bankókat, ez szép példája volt az összefogásnak.
Legyen most is így. Adjuk oda, úgysem visszük el magunkkal a sírba, de minek is vinnénk, ott nem azzal kell majd fizetnünk, amink van végrendelkezzünk ettől nemesebb és fontosabb célokért, Magyarország megmaradásáért és felemelkedéséért.
Ha ezt meg lehet tenni, a pénz a legkevesebb, nem lehet akadály, az ember és a haza ettől sokkal fontosabb. Mutassuk meg, mi sem vagyunk rosszabb hazafiak, mint hős elődeink, akik fegyverrel oltalmazták ezt a hazát, s nem rajtuk múlott, hogy oda jutottunk, ahova jutottunk, ebben rajtunk kívül álló okok játszottak közre.
Tudjuk az emberek Mammon éhsége kielégíthetetlen, használjuk ezt ki, mi ezzel nem szegényebbek, de sokkal, de sokkal gazdagabbak leszünk. Ez is egy harc, harcoljunk most így és ne méricskéljünk, ne tudja a te jobb kezed, mennyit adott a te bal kezed, adjunk érte semmit nem várva, csak úgy, szeretetből. S felderül egy nap a szabadság hajnala és öröm lesz, sírással vegyült öröm. Örömünkben fogunk sírva fakadni. Ez is sikerült, mert semmi sem lehetetlen a hívőknek. Higgyetek testvéreim, mert a hit hegyeket mozdít, tanított a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztus. Márpedig Neki hinnünk kell, eddig is sok csodát tett értünk. Mondjuk a Pétereknek vele együtt: Add oda én érettem és te éretted. Mondjad feleségednek, férjednek, testvérednek, gyerekednek és unokádnak: Add oda érettem és éretted, mert mindent mit adtál Krisztus visszaad. Aki hisz százszorosát kapja vissza itt e földön, odaát pedig az örök életet.
Ez legyen a magyar nép akarata, a mindenkori magyar kormányok programja, míg minden magyar egy nem lesz ismét. Aki magyar velünk tart.
Ha a római katolikusok össze tudják gyűjteni a Szent Péter filléreket, akkor mi nem lennénk képesek összegyűjteni a Kárpátaljai filléreket? De igen! Kezdjük el az adakozást már január 1-től és Június 4-re szabad lehet Kárpátalja. Ettől szebben lehet-e ünnepelni? Nem megkeseredve, nem is hősködve, hanem szépen, méltóságteljesen cselekedve.
Kezünkbe adta az Úr talentumait, gíráit és azt mondta, kereskedjünk vele, amíg vissza nem jön, és volt, aki megduplázta a rábízottakat és 10 várost szerzett, míg más az 5 városhoz, másik 5-t. Te hány várost fogsz megszerezni? Kezedre bízta a pénzt, mi lesz belőle? Meg fog-e dicsérni érte?

Old fascist paid and used by the Orban regime – pretty bad, but comprehensible. However the idiocy of collecting money (from similar dupes) to buy chunks of neighboring Ukraine is incomprehensible; its only realistic goal is to provoke the Uk gov.

Within a few decades we will see outright failed states emerge in Europe. Ukraine is a good first candidate, along with Greece and a few others. European countries are performing poorly in terms of economics as well as demographic trends. East European countries are being cannibalized by West European countries. West European countries are in turn increasingly starting to look like Maghreb demographically speaking, while their economies are stagnated. The collapse of West European countries will come a bit later, because they did not suffer the shock of the other failed Utopian experiment that ended 30 years ago, but it will be rather spectacular
While there is still much work to do, Hungary’s economy is mostly recovered now from the 2002-2010 fiasco and performing rather well by most metrics. The economic turnaround seems to have halted the demographic outflow of a few years ago, while fertility rates increased from 1.24 in 2010-2011, to about 1.49 currently. More progress is needed on this front, but things are heading in the right direction. Things could continue to head in right direction, unless the leftist-globalists win one of the next few elections. One election is all that is needed, because it is much easier to tear down and destroy than it is to build. And we saw what they are capable of in the 2002-2010 period, when they nearly destroyed Hungary’s economy, leaving it chocking on huge piles of toxic FX debt and on IMF life support, with an exodus of young people, which followed.
So to the point of the slightly misguided US-Hungarian preacher man, there could be indeed an opportunity within a few decades for Hungary to simply buy back some of the territory along its borders mostly inhabited by ethnic Hungarians, because many of its neighbors will be struggling just to survive. But for that, a strong Hungary will be needed, not the Hungary that the globalists were producing through their policies in the 2002-2010 period, but the one of today, which is seeing things heading in the right direction, although like I said with much work still needed to be the Hungary that will be in position to take advantage of a potential opportunity.
Why not collect some money to help Viktor Orbán buy Greenland as well? You got to admit, Horthy and his men knew how to shine their boots. Dem were the days….
