László Kövér is an Orbán loyalist and Hungary’s Parliament Speaker. The 59-year-old politician was born in the city of Pápa where he hails from a privileged Communist family. Mr. Kövér started out as a staunch Communist himself; he even worked for the Politburo. In 1987 as a young liberal leader he received a Soros-fellowship and was one of the founders of the ruling Fidesz party. He is now an anti-Communist, a homophobe, a racist and an anti-Semite. Before you consider this characterization overly harsh, take a closer look at his statements.
For example, Mr. Kövér recently expressed his views on gays. According to him there is no difference in the behavior of a pedophile and gays who want to adopt. In both cases, the child is an object, an item of luxury, and a tool used for self-realization and fulfillment.
He explained that “a normal homosexual knows the order of life, that this is how she/he was born and this is what she/he became. A normal homosexual tries to adapt to society and does not consider herself/himself equal.” (Read more.)
Because Mr. Kövér has openly praised Hungarian World War II fascists in the past, Israel’s current President, Reuven Rivlin barred him from entering his country. (Read here about Israel cancelling Kövér’s visit.)
Richard Allen Grenell is 52 years old and is President Trump’s ambassador to Germany. Grenell is gay and lives with his partner, Mr. Matt Lashey. After Mr. Kövér’s recent comments were publicized in the media the US Embassy in Berlin (!) issued a Twitter: “Hungarian Parliamentary Speaker Laszlo Kover’s comments likening same-sex marriage to pedophilia are unacceptable & a step backwards for #LGBTI rights in Europe @DRL.”

Eighty-year-old US Ambassador David Cornstein in Budapest is mum so far. That is not surprising since he maintains friendly relations with Mr. Orbán and his leadership team. Mr. Cornstein has never criticized the racist, anti-Semitic and homophobe statements of Fidesz party officials. Now it seems that his collegaues at the US Embassy in Berlin took note of Mr. Kövér’s comments and I wonder if Ambassador Cornstein in Budapest will notice it. What do you think?

1. Mr. Orbán, the head of Fidesz and Hungary’s prime minister, never ceases to praise Admiral Horthy as his political hero and role-model for Hungary’s youth. Horthy is the man who forged an alliance with Hitler and Mussolini after 1919, introduced Europe’s first anti-Jewish laws in 1920, and more than a dozen afterwards, culminating in the deportation and murder of 460,000 Jews to Auschwitz in 1944.
2. One of Mr. Orbán’s closest political allies and publicists, a founder of Fidesz, who is recognized globally as a fomentor of anti-Jewish hatred in Hungary (Zsolt Bayer) was recetly given one of the highest state honors by the President of Hungary, who is also a Fidesz Party member.
3. Mr. László Kövér, Speaker of the House and Vice President of Fidesz, played a personal role in secretly shipping back from Western Europe to Romania the ashes of a well known Hungarian anti-Semitic politician (he was in fact a member of the Arrow Cross Party during the massacre of Hungarian Jews). It is for his symbolic support of former Nazis, that Istael’s President banned Kövér from entering Israel
4. Two of the world’s most respected scholars of the Holocaust in Hungary (themselves victims of the Shoa) – Randolph Brabham and Nobel Prize winner Elie Wiezel – returned all of their state awards to the Orbán government in protest over its duplicitous behavior towards the Jews in Hungary.
I could go on but why bother. Please don’t bother to refute this with references to the great friendship between Bibi and Viktor. They are both unscrupulous crooks along with their major benefactor, Donald Trump, who has no trouble legitimizing the racially crazed anti-Semitic biggots marching through Charlottesville, while giving his daughter’s hand and body to a man of the Jewish fate. Some anti-Semites keep Jewish friends, some Jews keep anti-Semitic friends. There are rotten apples in both camps. One of these rotten apples is the PM of Hungary. He has contributed greatly along with his government and his diplomatic representatives abroad, to the increased racial hatred in Hungary, and the silencing of foreign criticism of this disgusting, duplicitous behavior.
The Hungarian Ambassador to Canada, Bálint Ódor, is a classic practitioner of the disgusting affinity-fraud in Canada, undertaken with the tacit support of some of the best known members of the Canadian Jewish Community. Like Admiral Horthy, who played cards with some of the biggest Jewish Industrialists who gave him some chips, in return for favorable consideration, Ódor is playing the same game with some of his local Jewish mutual-benefactors, such as the late Peter Munk, who was light years away from the moral principles of a man like George Soros.

Well done, there’s little point however – the facts have been presented so many times, all in vain. One can list so many instances of appalling racism/antiSemitism by Zs.Bayer, A.Bencsik, I.Lovas and lesser luminaries of Felcsutia. In my experience pointed hatred is a basic feature of the Fid supporters, and antiSemitism was the most frequent form, before “the liberals” were made target of “the two minute hate” (Orwell, 1984).

L.Kövèr is certainly “..an anti-Communist, a homophobe, a racist and an anti-Semite…”, but, most significantly, he’s a fascist now (a caveman fascist at that).
Having said all that – we should not fall into the trap of those for whom the only and single-most important shortcoming of the Orbán regime is its subliminal nurturing of racial hatreds under the guise of Christian-patriotism. The most significant crime of the gangsters who are running Hungary today is that they robbed their people – Christians, Jews, and those who value the truth – of their entitlement to justice, the rule of law and sustainable economic development.
Orbán’s attempt to portray himself as a defender of Hungary’s interests is the prototype of the kind of affinity fraud that Donald Trump is perpetuating in the USA today with considerable success and equally tragic consequences for the future of this planet. As Steve Bannon so aptly pointed out, Orbán was Trump before Trump, Why? Because it was in Hungary, Azerbaidjan, the other former Soviet bloc countries and yes, Israel, that Trump’s political gurus, Arthur J. Finkelstein and George Birnbaum, field tested the language of political deception that is spreading around the world today like a wildfire. (Birnbaum served as Bibi’s Cabinet chief before becoming Orbán’s chief political strategist along with Finkelstein). Those who argue that crime does not pay, are dreaming in technicolor. No one knows this better than the human meat-grinder in charge of Saudi Arabia. He too, like Orbán, is a protegé of the fox that got in among the chickens in America. Bob Dylan said it best – the pumps don’t work, ’cause the bandits took the handles.
